Canthoplasty surgery is a procedure whereby the lower lid is secured or tightened during blepharoplasty surgery or as a standalone procedure.   A canthoplasty can be a primary or first time surgery, or it can be a redo or a revision canthoplasty surgery.  Canthoplasty surgery whether primary or a revision is a complex surgical procedure which should only be performed by an eyelid specialist – an oculoplastic or ophthalmic plastic surgeon.  No other surgeon should perform canthoplasty or revision canthoplasty surgery.
